Jonathan Stone is an involved parent, entrepreneur, longtime community volunteer, and Tustin Unified School Board trustee who is running for re-election to continue building on the positive momentum of our district and as a champion for students, taxpayers, and public schools.
Raised by Tustin Unified teachers, Jonathan attended Loma Vista Elementary, Hewes Middle School and Foothill High School. Graduating from UC Davis, Jonathan worked in technology training and real estate before starting a local marketing business. In 2020, Jonathan was elected to the Tustin Unified School Board, representing the newly drawn Trustee Area 4.
Jonathan’s commitment to public service extends deep into the community. A longtime member of the Tustin Chamber of Commerce, he served both on the board and as chairman, and was instrumental in building local business support for Measure S, a technology bond that transformed Tustin Unified classrooms, and served on its Citizens Oversight Committee. Since 2020, Jonathan has served in a volunteer capacity for Habitat for Humanity, working to expand interfaith outreach. As a parent, Jonathan coached soccer and softball, and was a member of the “Loma Vista Dads” parent group. He is also active in his church, serving as a deacon and occasional bell choir member.
As our Area 4 Trustee, Jonathan has been instrumental in the success of the district. Since 2020, Tustin Unified has been acknowledged as a state leader with soaring graduation rates, rebounding attendance, higher test scores, and a commitment to universal school lunch that ensured healthy meals for all students.
Jonathan and his wife, Lynn, a pastor, live in the same home where he was raised. Their daughter is a recent Foothill High School graduate and will be attending college in the Fall.
